My admiration for young Emily Noland, the main protagonist in Steven Decker’s novel, “Walking Into Dreams”, increases exponentially with every page. Emily embarks on a journey that will change her life forever after an encounter with a stranger leads to her questioning where her future lies.
A tragic childhood accident leaves Emily facing obstacles at every turn but her determination and lack of self-pity ensure that her life follows the path she had hoped for. Fiercely independent, and active in her community, she excels at everything she tackles and has the unconditional love and support of family and friends. When her dreams take her to Dublin and later China, she realises that there is much more she needs to learn about the stranger.
On her sojourns to far-away places, Emily meets up with like-minded folk who set in motion extraordinary opportunities beyond her wildest dreams. I was completely invested in this inspirational read from beginning to end and applaud the author for an imaginative and compelling work of literary excellence.
